When my kids start school, if they encounter this kind of BS I will spend the time that they would have been doing the homework assigned teaching them to verbally humiliate the instructor in a respectful and honest manner.

Maybe a little subtle sarcasm “O.K. teacher, your right. I kilometer is more distance than a mile. Hey do you have 3 tens to change for a twenty?”

Kid’s do need to understand that some people are stupid, and that they will come across stupid people and be forced to interact with them. It’s best to humiliate them in a manner such that they have no alternative, but to shrink or humiliate themselves further.
