As someone who has worked at three separate gyms over the past 10 years that had tanning beds, this video was utterly fake. The lids are heavy, sure, but not so heavy that if the hydraulic hinge that holds the lid up should fail (and it looks like this bed had two of them) the machine is not about to go NOM NOM NOM on your ass. At most, it’ll bump into your back, you’ll yelp in surprise, maybe say “ow” and you might get a small bruise depending on how far the lid falls.

And that chick should totally eat a sandwich.
