As soon as someone can explain how the cat could have accidentally gotten there, and not just been held up there by a person while the door closed, I’ll think less of the naysayers.

I’ve actually seen this before. Most garage doors have either a laser or weight sensor at the bottom so that stuff like this doesn’t happen but if the cat tries to climb in through the top while the garage is closing, there is no safety measure up there so it will clamp the cat.

Cat’s can climb. He gets up in the rafters of the garage and sits ontop of the door while it’s up. The door comes down, so does the cat.
